 Advantage Pro Series Multiport Head.
Both the Advantage Bead filter and the Advantage Glass polishing filter are now available with our new Pro Series Multiport Head. The new Pro Series Head makes it possible to completely bypass the multiport valve under normal use so that the pond water flows directly to and from the filter without having to flow through the valve. This eliminates the restriction created by the multiport head. The end results is that with the new Pro Series Head you can lower the overall head pressure of your ponds plumbing.
How it works. Under normal use when filtering the pond water, the two knife valves are kept open. This allows water from the pond to flow directly in and out of the filter body. Only when you choose to backwash the filter do you close the two knife valves. This now sends all the water through the multiport head valve thereby allowing you to backwash the filter as normal. Once the backwash process is complete you simply place the multiport head back to filter and open both the knife valves again and you are back in the lower head pressure mode.
These new Pro Series Multiport Heads are available for the entire line up of Advantage Bead and Glass Filters and can be purchased separately to retrofit any existing Advantage Filters.
Test Results: Test results have shown between a 10% to 30% increase in water flow, depending on how much head pressure is in the rest of your plumbing system.
Please note that the comparison shown above was on an actual pond and thereby reflects more of a 'real world' situation of what you would expect to get from this low head pressure filter. The actual head head pressure of just the filters by themselves would be much less without the waterfall and jets that was present in this test.
Consideration: Keep in mind that the new Pro Series Head requires more space when installed. Note the difference.
 
Caution: The two knife valves are to be kept closed whenever you are using the multiport head to direct water. Leaving either knife valve open with the multiport valve in any other mode other thatn “FILTER” could cause water to escape through the waste line potentially draining the pond. |
